The range of products for men’s skin care has risen over the years because more men are becoming conscious about the condition of their skin. The other factor is the ever increasing advertisements and celebrity endorsements. There is also the public’s need and desire to fit in with every one else. Millions are being spent on men’s skin care and it’s making a difference.
Although men can suffer some of the same skin problems as women, the big difference is the severity of the problem. Also men’s skin type and the texture is different from that of a women’s. Women have thinner skin and continue as such, while a man’s skin is thicker and thins out as they grow older.
Even though a man’s skin tends to be thicker, the skin on their face is more delicate than a females because of men’s constant shaving with removes the protective layer. Another problem is that often men shave incorrectly which can cause ingrown hairs. A man’s skin is more prone to skin issues such as blackheads, acne and break outs because the skin has bigger pores and it produces more oils.
A man’s skin is different as well because they do not have the same skin care regimen as a woman does and men are often exposed to more of the sun’s harmful rays. Even men’s sun screen and sun block products contain more potent ingredients because of the thick skin.
